... What to ask your child when they get home from school
It’s so easy to ask our children when we pick them up from school or when they get home, “How was your day?”.
A better way of asking is to say “What was good about your day?”
It gets the conversation off on a positive footing, encouraging your child to reflect and focus on the positives from the day, rather than launching in with the negatives. This helps with their self-esteem and developing and building a stronger mental health.
Victor Frankl said we always have the power to change the way we think about our situation and this is a simple but powerful way of doing it.
The same approach works for adults too! Try using this approach with colleagues or your partner.
