Welcome to my blog. I write about things that interest me in leadership, learning & eduction.
I’m a Scotsman living in Yorkshire and was Head of the Prep school of St Peter’s School in York for 18 years, and a teacher since 1993. I am currently Director of External Relations at St Peter’s York and a governor at York St John University.
As well as working in schools I’ve also been involved in national independent school organisations as Chairman of the Independent Association of Prep School (IAPS), and a board director of the Independent Schools Council (ISC) and the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
My passions are learning more about leadership in different contexts, leadership coaching, becoming a better photographer (www.andyfalconerphotography.com), and running marathons and ultramarathons. All fuelled by great coffee beans!
I am a qualified executive leadership coach, through the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM Level 7), and am available for coaching sessions with leaders in both schools and universities, as well as the corporate and not-for-profit sectors.
