... How To Celebrate My Failures
One of my brilliant leadership team, let’s call her Julia (since that’s her name), raised a great point. Our teachers have been amazing at sharing all their top tips for how to use Microsoft Teams & One Note in the best way possible for teaching. We’ve set up a Chat solely for that. But the downside is a feeling of inadequacy because everyone else seems to know what they’re doing, and using the tech more easily than you.
So, we’ve set up a new Team that is open for anyone to attend, on Thursday lunchtimes. It’s a bring & share lunch. We eat lunch online together & share our failures from the week! The Team is called “Nailed It – Celebrating Failures!”. There’s a lot of laughter. There’s a feeling of release when ‘confessing’ your mistakes or near misses to your friends & colleagues. It helps keep things in perspective. It reminds us that we’re all human & that, just like we keep telling the children, making mistakes shows that you’re learning. It helps to recreate the banter that you’d normally get in a staffroom, which we all so desperately miss with remote teaching.
Thank you Julia.
